Daniel Seghers (1590 Antwerpen – 1661) - Bouquet in Glass Vase
Oil on canvas. Relined. 67.5 x 56 cm. In black ripple moulding frame.
Dr. Ertz, who examined the original painting concludes in his report that the present painting was painted by the Flemish painter Daniel Seghers in the 1640s in Antwerp. Seghers almost exclusively painted floral still lifes, while he liked his cartouches being painted by colleagues such as Erasmus Quellinus the Younger (1607-1678), Cornelis Schut the Elder (1597-1655) and Johan Boeckhorst (1605-1668) filled often with religious motifs. Left: Jacob Savery (1565/67 Kortrijk - 1603 Amsterdam) - Winter Landscape with Church, River, and Ice-Skaters; Right: Karel (Charles) Beschey, (1706 - 1776) following of Jan Brueghel the Younger - Winter Landscape with Bare Trees, Gabled Houses and Ice Amusements

attributed. Brother of Hans I and Roelant Savery, and father of Hans II, Jacob II and Salomon Savery. Oil on panel. 32.5 x 45 cm.
The viewer's gaze conquers the pictorial space through a river meandering into the background and merging with the light blue of the clinking cold air. The clothes of the people in red, dark blue and snow-white make the national colors of the Netherlands, which is certainly intended. See Price Estimate...

Karel (Charles) Beschey, (1706 - 1776) following of Jan Brueghel the Younger - Winter Landscape with Bare Trees, Gabled Houses and Ice Amusements
Oil on oak panel. 16.5 x 22.5 cm. Monogrammed „B“ in the bottom right corner. Several remains of old red lacquer seals. Unframed.
The painter is one of a small group of painters who continued the tradition of 17th century Dutch landscape painting during the 18th century. He was a student of Hendrick Govaerts and was awarded the first prize by the Antwerp Academy in 1727. Like his brother Balthasar Beschey, he was also appointed as director of the Academy. Like only a few other painters of his time, Beschey took inspiration from works of Jan Brueghel, Pieter Bout or Joseph van Braedal. However, especially in his few winter landscapes, there are marked differences to his paragon Jan Brueghel the Elder. See Price Estimate...

Albert Marquet (1875 Bordeaux – 1947 Paris) - Avenue de Versailles, 1904
Oil on canvas. 65 x 81 cm. Signed lower right.
The painting shows a street in Versailles. The work is predominantly kept in ocher tones, the trees and passers-by on the street indicated in a shadowy way. The bright facades of the houses and the rows of trees form an axis that directs the viewer's gaze into the distance.
The French landscape painter Albert Marquet took part in an exhibition of the "Fauves" in 1905 with his friends Henri Matisse (1869-1954) and André Derain (1880-1954). His central theme is the relationship between color and light as well as the influence of light on color. In 1939 he settled permanently at La Frette on the Seine. The present painting also dates from this last creative period. See Price Estimate...

Eugène Boudin (1824 Honfleur – 1898 Deauville) - Washer Women on the Banks of the River Touques, CA. 1885 – 1890
Oil on panel. 22 x 33 cm. Signed lower right
The waters of the Touques run calmly at the centre of the painting and its banks are almost evoking a beach. The opposite banks can vaguely be made out in the distance where the river course loses itself. The women are busy washing the laundry and are standing in the foreground of the composition. The effect of depth is created by figures leading into the background as well as the painting’s colour gradation. The chromatic harmony is dominated by shades of faded blue and ochre while the strong local colours in the foreground liven up the colour palette. See Price Estimate...

Magnificent summery garden atmosphere, shadowed by dense foliage. A clearing makes room for some rays of sunshine illuminating this intimate scene. Left: Important and exceptional French 18th century longcase clock; Righ: Painter of the 17th century - Magnificent Floral Still Life

Important and exceptional French 18th-century longcase clock
