Victor Gabriel Gilbert (1847-1933) - Marchande de roses devant l’Arc de Triomphe, Paris

G. H. Göbell (1786 - 1833) - Romantic landscape 1819 near Twente

This painting is one of Göbell's greatest works, from a relatively small oeuvre. This is because he did not reach an old age. There are about 20 known works by him. Therefore, his paintings are rare. Exquisitely painted piece with trees painted in a very similar style as that of Koekkoek. This year the canvas is 200 years old. Beautiful monumental and detailed work by Rien Poortvliet. Size drawing board 51 x 73 cm. Work 50 x 58 cm. Intended for a calendar from 1997 (month of August). Made during the last year of life of Poortvliet (1995).  Above the work in the handwriting Poortvliet is noted: “Alsof ze zelf nooit iets misdaan hebben, zo schreeuwen ze hun verontwaardiging uit.” Watercolor / gouache; Signed and dated 1995. August Wynantsz (1785-1848) - Cityscape

August Wynantsz was born in 1785 in Dusseldorf and died in 1848. He was known as a draughtsman and painter of cityscapes, among other things. From 1829 to 1848 he worked in The Hague. In 1829 he painted the Binnenhof in The Hague. He usually painted imposing cityscapes.
