On March 28th HAMPEL Fine Art Auctions will present the 2019 Spring Fine Art sale in the beautiful setting of Villa Hampel in Munich.

The auction offers to the refine collector a particularly fine selection of old master paintings, impressionist artists, luxury collectibles & sculptures, selected classic furniture & interior, exquisit porcelain, prominent Asian and Russian Art, antique books & manuscripts, exclusive wrist-watches as well as the Collection Dr. Meyn African art.

The Old Masters section of the sale includes extraordinary paintings from a wide variety of genres, subjects and styles, executed by prominent artists from different schools (Selected Artworks Part 2).

Exhibition days: Saturday, 23 until Tuesday, 26 March 2019 – 10 am to 5 pm. Wednesday, 27 March 2019 – 9 am to 12 pm.

Oil on canvas. 68 x 46.5 cm. Signed and dated “1875” lower left. Helmsman at the wheel with other people pleading for help in the stormy waves. The scene increased by the tilt of the ship's deck, with a view of the dangerous rushing waves in the background. Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin,1832 Yelabuga, Russia – 1898 Saint Petersburg - INTERIOR WITH YOUNG WOMAN AT A TABLE IN FRONT OF WINDOW

Oil on canvas. 59 x 39 cm. The woman standing at the window is the artist’s second wife Evgenia. A collector and member of the Warsaw District Court, B.I. Significant Louis XIV chest of drawers with Boulle marquetry, stamped "Sageot"

H: 86cm. W: 120 cm. D: 62.5 cm. Gold-plated profile strip, gilded bar decoration. Cherry fronts, cover plate and sides with Boulle inlays. Other fantasy figures with plume hats in the other decorative elements. The figurative decoration is closely related to the prevailing Chinoiserie style. On the sides, large, likewise gilded applications with women masks. Interior of the drawers in solid walnut. Giovanni Antonio Dosio, around 1533 - 1610

Height: 85 cm. Width: 66 cm. Depth: 34 cm. The sculptor and architect was a pupil of Bartolomeo Ammanati (1511 - 1592). The life-size bust is carved in white, slightly gray Carrara marble. The Doge Giovanni Battista Cicala Zoagli (1484-1565) ruled the Republic of Genoa in the years 1561 - 1563. See Price Estimate...

Rare Italian box,  16th century

11.4 x 18 x 11.8 cm. Wooden box covered with velvet, ormolu fittings. Lined with red velvet on the inside, in good condition. Velvet on outside faded. Bottom cover renewed, one plaque replaced, with signs of aging and wear.

Height incl. plinth: 11.5 cm. Total height incl. round marble base: 19.2 cm. So-called “piggyback-group“. Cast in brown, patinated and finely carved bronze, in accordance with the model by the design of Kern from the mid-17th century. Several replicas of this figural group are known. Bernard Buffet, 1928 Paris – 1999 Tourtour/ South of France - FLOWERS AND FRUIT I (FLEURS ET FRUITS I)

Oil on canvas. 81 x 60 cm. Signed top right, dated “1991” lower right. The light atmosphere from Buffet’s late work is emphasized by the luminous polychromy of the floral and fruit arrangement that stands out effectively against the white and vertically structured wall.
