Rijksmuseum
Rijksmuseum has a vast collection of art and historical objects across 80 galleries. The museum itself is a masterpiece that presents 800 years of Dutch art and history, from the Middle Ages to Mondrian. Van Gogh Museum
The museum houses the largest collection of artworks by Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) in the world which includes 700 letters, 400 drawings, and 200 paintings. Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam
The Stedelijk Museum was founded in 1874 by a group of private citizens in Amsterdam, led by C.P. van Eeghen, who donated funds and their art collections to establish a museum in the capital of the Netherlands that would be devoted to modern art. The collection, housed at first at the Rijksmuseum, was moved in 1895 into the Museum’s own building, designed by A.W. Weissman. The Stedelijk Museum streams a live tour through the collection or one of the exhibitions every Friday at 2 pm (CET) on Instagram live tours. Hermitage Amsterdam
In 2019 Hermitage Amsterdam celebrated its 10th anniversary, which has been marked by a whole year of special events, including two major jubilee exhibitions: Treasury! (De schatkamer!) and Jewels! (Juwelen!) - an Imperial collection of 200 years of jewels and fashion. The second jubilee exhibition presented brilliant pieces from the Winter Palace - 300 dazzling jewels and more than 100 paintings, accessories, dresses and costumes. Uffizi Gallery
The gallery is home to the art collection of one of the city's most famous families—the de'Medicis. It is located inside a Mannerist-style building designed by famed painter, architect, and historian Giorgio Vasari (he was the first to write about the Renaissance). The National Gallery
It was founded in 1824 after the British government bought a collection of 38 pictures from the banker and collector John Julius Angerstein, consisting of Italian, Dutch and English works. The Museum of Modern Art in New York was founded in 1929 and was the first museum dedicated to collecting and presenting art from the modern era.
