A 9 CARAT GOLD PROPELLING PENCIL BY SAMPSON MORDAN & CO.

The pencil with ball terminal pulls out from a cylindrical barrel, both sections marked, with suspensory loop; together with a Victorian gold propelling pencil, with etched scrolled hexagonal barrel and foiled shield shaped terminal
SIZE/DIMENSIONS: First 7cm long including loop, second 9.7cm long
GROSS WEIGHT: First 18.3 grams, second 14.9 grams
Condition Report:
First- some signs of use, a couple of small dents and scuffing, pencil mechanism working well, slightly stiff coming out of the barrel, pencil lead approximately 1.2mm.
Second- some signs of wear, there is s sharp snag at the top of the channel where the propelling band has been brought up a bit to far, solder line visible from construction- its tarnished slightly, foiling slightly perished, small mark to the top of the barrel where it has been previously acid tested Condition Report Disclaimer
