In Hebrew. 22 x 13.5 cm. 590 pages. Rabbi Haim Touboul's rubber stamp impression appears on page kuf yud bet recto, on page resh tzadi alef verso and on the third leaf from the end, verso. On the top margin of the title page is Touboul's Hebrew inscription and signature: "I, Chaim Touboul, Sefaradi Tahor [= of Spanish Jewish extraction on both sides of the family], have lent this book to my friend Rabbi Eliyahu Gigi, may he live a long life. Haim Touboul." Rabbi Haim Touboul was a Dayan (Rabbinical Court Judge) in the city of Oran, Algeria, in the early 20th century. This work contains a Super-commentary to Abraham ibn Ezra on the Pentateuch. It is volume I - Genesis, only (of 7), very lightly foxed in places, modern vellum in slip-case, lacking 4 leaves (pagination jumps from Kaf Khet to Lamed Gimel). Corner of f. 53:4 (leaf resh yud bet) removed with loss of two letters, lightly browned towards the end of the book, head notes added in manuscript, few marginal notations. [see N. Ben-Menachem, Besha'arei Sepher (1967) page 164-172; idem, Aresheth III (1963) page 81-82, 8vo. One of only 25 copies. This book includes Cremieu's own commentary on Ibn Ezra's commentary on the Book of Genesis. Naphtali ben Menachem devotes a chapter (pages 164-172) to Ho'il Moshe Be'er in his own work BESHA'AREI SEPHER (1967), where he tells of his search of many years for a copy of this book, providing details, as well, about the work and its author. Vinograd, Aix 12. The book is in Hebrew except for a second title page which is in French. Pagination: 3 unpaginated leaves, 288 leaves, followed by 4 unpaginated leaves, The German Encyclopedia Judaica states in volume 5, Column 603: Cremieux (Cremieu), Mose Ben Salomo (1766-1837), Autor, geb. 1766 in Carpentras als Sohn des Salomo b. Abraham Cremieux (Verfasser des Raschi-Subkommentars, CHESCHEK SCHELOMO). Cremieux war Neffe und Schwiegersohn des Mordechai Cremieux; zusammen mit beiden ging er 1790 nach Aix und gruendete dort eiene Druckerei, in der ein sefardisches Gebetbuch nach dem Ritus der Gemeinden von Avignon, Carpentras, L'Isle und Cavaillon mit einem von Cremieux verfassten Kommentar HOIL MOSCHE BAER (6 Teile; Aix 1829-1836) erschien; er verfasste auch einen Superkommentar zu einigen Teilen des Bibel-kommentars von Abraham ibn Esra (zu Gen., Ex. Lev. und vielleicht zu Num., zu den fuenf Megillot, Prov. und Hi; Aix 1833, 1834, 1836). Cremieux starb am 4. Mai 1837 in Aix. H. Cremieux, Arch.
