V, p.1031. - First edition of the first manual of plastic surgery, the term of which was coined by Eduard Zeis (1807-1868) for this work, which is a landmark in the history of medicine (Patterson I, 677). The famous surgeon Johann Friedrich Dieffenbach was instrumental in the writing of the book. "The first half of the work covers the general principles of plastic surgery, and the first history of the subject.
