This silver gelatin semi-gloss double weight photograph was taken by Philippe Halsman at the Beverly Carlton Hotel. It was used on the cover of LIFE magazine on 7th April 1952. On the reverse of the piece is Philippe Halsman's copyright rubber stamp and signature in graphite. This information can be seen through the perspex window on the back of the frame. This photograph was printed prior to 1967. Phillippe Halsman sold his archive in 1967, and the previous owner of the piece purchased it at that time.

Exceptionally rare. It is believed that only a handful of these were printed prior to 1967.

Excellent condition, there is a very small crease in the lower left-hand corner.
