Scuola francese del XVIII secolo - Ritratto di Ortensia Mancini duchessa de La Meilleraye

[ translate ]

\Artist: Scuola francese del XVIII secolo
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 97_4_83_cm
Ortensia Mancini was the favorite niece of Cardinal Mazarin, Prime Minister of France, and the mistress of Charles II, King of England, Scotland and Ireland. She was the fourth of five Mancini sisters, who together with their Martinozzi cousins were known in the court of King Louis XIV of France as the Mazarinettes. Our portrait of the French school represents a young Hydrangea with big eyes and a pleased expression, while with one hand she coquettishly adjusts the red ribbon, under the generous neckline. The rich sleeves of the dress, fastened by precious stones that look like sapphires, dominate the lace that covers the elbows. The work measures cm. 97 x 83 including the ancient carved wooden frame with a later period lacquer, and cm. 73. 5 x 60 canvas only. The work is restored and relined and comes with a certificate of lawful provenance from my collection. ATTENTION: the packaging will be very accurate and safe, however we are not responsible for any damage to the frame due to transport, since it must be considered a gift outside the clearing price. For shipments outside the U. E. shipping times will be longer and the unspecified customs fees will be charged to the buyer in the country of arrival.
