Earrings: extremely valuable earrings with large "Conch" natural pearls of together 12.5ct

[ translate ]

Approx. 37mm long, approx. 9.5g, 18K white gold, each set with a very fine pink conch pearl of approx. 13 × 8mm each, setting with high quality diamond setting of together approx. 2.2ct, weight of both natural pearls 12.5ct, like new and unworn, both pearls with recognisable flame structure! The beautiful, pastel-coloured conch pearl grows in the queen conch snail (pronounced "conk"), a large, edible sea snail. The most beautiful specimens have a wavy "flame" texture on their surface, a creamy, porcelain-like appearance and a unique shimmer. All conch beads have a unique chatoyance that resembles a flame when magnified, creating a delicate wavy pattern of lighter and darker areas on the surface of the bead. This striking, silk-like effect is caused by the formation of microcrystalline calcite fibres in concentric layers just below the surface of the pearl. In the highest quality shell pearls, this is visible to the naked eye. A combination of size, shape, colour and flame effect determines the value. Excellent pearls today cost between $4,000 and $15,000 per carat, beautiful but not necessarily perfect pearls between $2,000 and $3,000 per carat! (Source: https://www.cortrie.de/go/LJ2). ATTENTION: The hammer price includes 19% VAT, which can be invoiced! This means for buyers with delivery address outside the EU, that the hammer price is reduced by this tax.
