Lot of 7 vintage anonymous photographs. This group of photographs relate the sale of the first airplanes, 3 Bristol Boxkite airplanes, to the South African Army by the Belgian aviator Joseph Christiaens. Christiaens went to South Africa to do demonstrations and sell 1 to 3 Bristol Box-Kite. The first, ne28 to Dr John Weston, the second was no doubt ne27 and the last was used for parts. The Bristol Box-Kite (66 were built) were designed by Sir George White, (inspired by Farman).
