Gabriele Urban - Pink millefiori murrine vase and gold leaf - Glass

Murano mouth-blown glass vase, moulded by hand in the furnace by renowned master glassmaker Gabriele Urban. He is so famous that some of his works are on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The vase was crafted on a transparent glass base decorated with composition of Murrine Millefiori (small miniature mosaics mainly representing flowers) , arranged on a plate. The decoration is carefully prepared by the artist in advance, choosing and cutting each single Murrina to the right size for the vase. The decoration is finished with 24 ct gold leaf wrapped around the entire object. The artist's signature is engraved on the glass and the object bears the Vetro Artistico © di Murano trademark.
