Blick über einen Teich auf das teils hinter Bäumen versteckte Schloss, im warmen Licht des allmählich zur Neige gehenden Tages, Vedutenmalerei in warmer Farbigkeit, Öl auf Leinwand, links unten signiert und datiert "L. Menke 1867", auf der Rückseite des Keilrahmens bezeichnet "L. Menke 1867", teils retuschiertes Craquelure, gerahmt, Falzmaße ca. 25 x 37,5 cm. Künstlerinfo: auch Louis, dt. Maler und Zeichner (1822 Detmold bis 1882 Detmold), 1795-1835 Hofmaler am Detmolder Hof, 1841-42 Besuch des Polytechnikums in Hannover, als Zeichenlehrer in Detmold tätig, 1876 Herausgabe des Buches „Über Aufgabe und Methode des Schulzeichenunterrichts“, Quelle: Thieme-Becker und Wikipedia.

View across a pond to the castle, partly hidden behind trees, in the warm light of the gradually fading day, veduta painting in warm colours, oil on canvas, signed and dated lower left "L. Menke 1867", inscribed "L. Menke 1867" on the reverse of the stretcher, partially retouched craquelure, framed, dimensions approx. 25 x 37.5 cm. Artist information: also Louis, German painter and draughtsman (1822 Detmold to 1882 Detmold), 1795-1835 court painter at the Detmold court, 1841-42 attended the polytechnic in Hanover, worked as a drawing teacher in Detmold, 1876 publication of the book "Über Aufgabe und Methode des Schulzeichenunterrichts", source: Thieme-Becker and Wikipedia.
