Barletta (died 1480) was an Italian Dominican preacher whose sermons were published widely after his death.
The saying "Nescit praedicare qui nescit barlettare" (in English: He who does not know how to barlettare does not know how to preach) goes back to him.
In his sermons he did not spare the weaknesses of his contemporaries;
there are often passages of eloquent and biting sarcasm.
