1702 Saint Teresa of Avila Mysticism Philosophy Meditations Prayers 2v

“I know by frequent experience that there is nothing which puts the devils to flight like holy water.”

– St. Teresa of Avila

Saint Teresa of Avila was a 16th-century Spanish mystic and Carmelite nun who played an essential role in the Counter Reformation by reforming the Carmelite order. Her written works are integral in the development of Christian mysticism and personal meditation practices in the 16th-century.

This collection is a fine, early 18th-century printing of the mystical literature of Saint Teresa including her philosophical meditations and an important treatise on perfect living – ‘The Way of Perfection’. This edition was edited and translated by Arnauld d’Andilly
