1860 Fifteen Years Among MORMONS Polygamy Brigham Young
1860 Fifteen Years Among MORMONS Polygamy Brigham Young Salt Lake City Utah
‘Fifteen Years among the Mormons’ is a novel by Nelson Winch Green. It is an interesting account Mary Ettie V. Smith’s experience among the Mormons during the founding years of Salt Lake City. This book questions the credibility of the church and the founding fathers’ true intents. Some of its allegations about Mormon leaders and religious practices would have been considered by many Americans of that time to be immoral, or criminal, or both.
Labeled by Mormons as lies or a hopeless mixture of fact and fiction, this book is still quoted occasionally by anti-Mormons. The narrative includes discussion of polygamy, theocracy and the suppression of women, the author’s personal acquaintance and incidents with Brigham Young, and allegations of conspiracies to rob and murder.
