18K Gold Ring w/ Ancient Greek Gold Stater, Diamonds

Ancient Greece,Kings of Macedon, reign of Philip II, 359 to 336 BCE. A beautiful ancient Greek gold stater struck in the name of Alexander the Great's father King Philip II, struck in Pella, the birthplace of Philip and Alexander, coin reference number Le Rider 266. On the table of the ring we see a laureate head of Apollo facing right. On the reverse, a charioteer driving a biga drawn by two rearing horses to the right, holding reigns in his left hand and a goad in his right; below horses, trident to right. The Greek letters on the reverse side of the coin spell out the name Philip". The coin was fitted with a custom 18K gold setting framed by 20 fully faceted 5 diamonds (5 pointers). US ring size 11.25. Total weight: 37.8 grams. Gold quality of setting: 76% gold; equivalent to 18K. Gold quality of stater: 99.3% gold; equivalent to 23K+. Size: table of ring measures 1" in diameter (2.5 cm); opening measures .875" in diameter (2.2 cm)
