1903483. PATCH TABLE, Gustavian, late 18th / early 1800s, pine, original color in pearl gray.
With two rectangular folding tops and four gates, the tops with graded crossbars, the frame with contoured foot ends, height 74.5, raised 168 x 119 cm In the book Room for furniture, Lars and Ursula Sjöberg describe how the percussion table was used in the 18th century: "Salen, the home's largest room, had as its main function to be the dining room. When setting the table, the dining tables were set out in the middle of the room and the chairs, which were usually lined up along the walls, were carried to the table. After the meal, the tables were folded and, like the chairs, placed either along the walls of the hall or in a sideboard or in the foyer. In a few minutes, the room could be turned into a ballroom.".
