1920 Washburn Bowl Back Mandolin With Case

This 1920 WASHBURN BOWL BACK MANDOLIN WITH CASE, is in beautiful, working condition. All of the strings are still tight and in excellent shape, and there is minimal wear seen anywhere on the instrument.
The inside label states “Washburn, Best in the World,” and includes, “Highest Award at World’s Columbian Exposition, Chicago, 1893,” and, “Gold Medal and Diploma of Honor, Antwerp, 1894” around the exterior of the label.; The serial number, 201233, is handwritten in pencil, and indicates it was made in 1920. There is a stamp above the label that reads style 214 (the 4 is extremely difficult to read. It may be a different number); The mandolin has twenty frets, two of which extend over the sound hole. The back is made of sixteen rosewood ribs separated by celluloid spacers.; This mandolin is solid and in excellent condition, including the nut, bridge and tuner keys, which turn smoothly, and the hinged tail piece which opens nicely.
