La KS 750 est sans conteste la plus connue de toutes les Zündapp. Après la Première Guerre mondiale au cours de laquelle la firme fabriquait des machines-outils et de l'armement, Zündapp s'est lancé en 1921 dans la production de motos. Première incursion de la marque dans le domaine des grosses cylindrées, la série K (pour kardan) est dévoilée en 1933 et se place en concurrente directes des BMW en proposant la même architecture : cadre et fourche en tôle emboutie, moteur à plat et transmission par arbre et cardan. La version militaire, qui répondait au cahier des charges très exigeant de la Wehrmacht, se caractérisait par sa marche arrière et la roue du side-car rendue motrice. Endormie depuis plus de vingt ans, cette KS750 était la propriété d'un ancien militaire et ancien résistant. Repeinte en version Afrika Korps, de couleur sable (code RAL 8000) il y a une vingtaine d'années, cette Zündapp KS 750 constitue un projet à terminer, rare pour le collectionneur mais très intéressant par sa cohérence. Il est important de souligner que le moteur correspond bien au châssis ce qui est rare et, même s'il porte les séquelles d'une réparation ancienne sur la partie avant gauche du bloc, il n'est pas bloqué et les vitesses passent à l'arrêt. Cette machine dispose d'un rapport d'expertise complet datant d'octobre 2019 qui recense les éléments manquants et les travaux à envisager pour finir ce beau projet tout en soulignant l'intérêt historique que revêt une machine de ce calibre.

The KS 750 is undoubtedly the best known of all Zündapps. After the First World War, when the firm manufactured machine tools and armament, Zündapp began the production of motorcycles in 1921. The brand's first foray into the big displacement world, the K series (for kardan) was unveiled in 1933 and was positioned as a direct competition to the BMWs, offering the same architecture: frame and fork in pressed sheet metal, a flat motor and transmission by pushrods. The military version, which met the very demanding specifications of the Wehrmacht, was distinctive because of its reverse gear and the sidecar wheel, which was driven too.
Unused for over twenty years, this KS750 was the property of a former soldier and former Resistance fighter. Repainted in Afrika Korps style, in a sand color (RAL code 8000) about twenty years ago, this Zündapp KS 750 is a project that needs completion, rare for a collector but very interesting, in its consistency. It is important to emphasize that the engine matches the chassis, which is rare. Whilst it bears the after effects of an old repair on the left front part of the block, the engine isn't blocked and the gears change to neutral stop. This machine has a full expertise report from October 2019, which identifies the missing elements and the work to be considered to finish this beautiful project, while highlighting the historical interest of a machine of this caliber.
