1955 Talbot-Lago T26L Record berline
No reserve

COLLECTION DE MONSIEUR M., PASSEUR D'ART

Carte grise française
Châssis n° 103026
Moteur n° 26618

- Troisième main
- Etat d'origine exceptionnel

French title
Chassis No 103026
Engine No 26618

- Three owners from new
- Exceptional original condition
- One of the last saloon cars produced by Talbot
- No reserve

This elegant Talbot-Lago is the landmark of a pivotal era, of which major manufacturers were still devoted to the traditional separate chassis design while adopting the pontoon bodywork look, a more aerodynamic and fashionable one. It was delivered new in Paris on 5 September 1955, as stated by the manufacturing release paper. It will then be purchased in 1963 by an early collector who stored it with great care until 2012. This is when our current collector acquired it during an Artcurial sale, after being seduced by its exceptional original condition. Since then, it was cleaned and put back in working order; so much so that its rare condition highlights its manufacturing quality. It still has all the luxury attributes worthy of its rank: the original front beige leather seats are in a rare state of preservation, as well as the comfortable rear seat with its large central armrest, a genuine invitation to travel. The bodywork is embellished with a sunroof and has rods, wheel covers and signal elements of that period. During our road test, we've been able to appreciate the smooth running of the pre-selective Wilson gearbox along with the 4.5-litres six cylinder sound, which has served as a baseline for the brand's Grand Prix cars.
This Lago Record is certainly one of the last saloon cars produced by Talbot. This rare machine also has the advantage of being unrestored, therefore representing a testimony of a lavish bygone era.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CAR IS SOLD WITHOUT TECHNICAL INSPECTION.
