chassis no. AR177370

Information
• Bertone Aerodynamic Design Masterpiece.
• An Alfa Romeo for racing: preparation for uphill races/rallies.
• HTP FIA/CSAI, GTS group.
• Very good conditions.
• Many accessories.

Popularly known as "the shark", the Giulietta Sprint Speciale was born from a study of a faster version of the Giulietta Sprint; aerodynamic research was carried out in order to enable the Alfa Romeo engine to break the 200 Km/h barrier. It went into production in 1959 and was offered as a more luxurious version of the popular Giulietta, with competition in mind. The curvaceous Bertone’s SS was powered by a Veloce-specification engine, which boasted 116 hp. Despite its drag coefficient of only 0.29 it was less used in competition than its sibling Giulietta SZ. But that is not the case with this example, which had a second youth, with an important sporting history, as a vintage car. The car was prepared for uphill races and rallies in the 80s and has a rich equipment in this regard: safety tank, electric petrol pump, Sassa roll-bar cage, Momo Gritti steering wheel with wooden crown, 4 points Sabelt seat belts, Vitaloni mirrors, two Weber 40 DCOE/27 carburettors, Fusina type seat. The car has HTP FIA Fiche and HTP CSAI. Then, vintage gadgets such as: helmet, goggles and pilot shoes accompany it. In very good condition, it has black number plates and Italian papers.
