vhs/hs/ms - no seepage - 1 externally corroded capsule - in my temperature-contolled cellar several years The 1964 Château Cos d'Estournel was served blind . . . It testifies what a fine vintage this was for Northern Médoc, especially Saint Estèphe . . . it exemplifies how well this Saint Estètphe grandee ages. . . . certainly freshness here and that translated through onto the palate. . . . well balanced / still vital after half-a-century: a foundation of iodine-tinged black fruit and light marine influence on the finish, hints of blackcurrant pastilles and Japanese nori on the aftertaste. . . . a delightful old Cos . . . a wine that is continuing to give pleasure.
