Ainsi que nous le confirme son certificat Jaguar Heritage, ce roadster est sorti d'usine le 24 novembre 1966 et a été délivré neuf aux USA, à Theodore Baranet le 15 décembre suivant. Il était déjà dans sa combinaison de couleurs actuelle : rouge carmin avec sellerie noire et capote assortie. Sa carrosserie a été repeinte avec une laque métallisée et présente un bon état d'usage, tout comme la sellerie en skaï. Le bloc moteur porte son numéro d'origine et les carburateurs SU sont prolongés de cornets grillagés accessoires. La ligne d'échappement est quant à elle terminée par deux doubles sorties Ansa. Au rayon mécanique, nous avons relevé que le carter d'huile en aluminium a été réparé, que la voiture était équipée d'un démarreur moderne, adaptation répandue visant à faciliter le démarrage, ainsi que d'un alternateur plus moderne. Le tableau de bord est complété d'un autoradio Blaupunkt, et le manomètre de pression d'huile est un élément moderne. Un rapport d'expertise a été réalisé en 2018 et nous invitons les acheteurs potentiels à en prendre connaissance. La capote est en état d'usage correct, à l'exception d'une petite déchirure qui pourra être reprise. Le roadster série 1 4.2 est certainement la version la plus désirable de la type E, avec sa mécanique puissante, sa boîte synchronisée et cette ligne originelle à couper le souffle.

As its Jaguar Heritage certificate confirms, this roadster left the works on 24 November 1966 and was delivered new in the USA, to Theodore Baranet, on 15 December. It already wore its current combination of colours: Carmine Red with Black upholstery and a matching hood. Its body has been repainted with a metallic finish and is in good used condition, as is the vinyl upholstery. The engine block has its original number and the SU carburettors are fitted with longer mesh-covered accessory ram pipes. The exhaust system is finished off with a pair of twin Ansa tailpipes. On the mechanical side, we noted that the aluminium sump has been repaired and that the car is fitted with a modern ignition, a common modification to make starting easier, as well as a more recent alternator. A Blaupunkt radio has been added to the dashboard, while the oil pressure gauge is a modern unit. The car was valued in 2018 and we invite potential buyers to consult the report. The hood is in decent used condition, except for a small tear which could be repaired. The 4.2-litre Series 1 roadster is without doubt the most desirable version of the E-Type, with its powerful engine, all-synchro gearbox and breathtaking original styling.
