1976 CADILLAC V8 5.7l Seville

[ translate ]

That’s America
Elegant and statutory line
Powerful and melodious V8 5.7l

Chassis n°: 6S69R6Q523736
French registration as historic vehicle

The Seville, introduced in May 1975, was Cadillac’s answer to the rising popularity of such European luxury imports as Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz and BMW. As the market share of these imports continued to climb, it became obvious that the traditional American automotive paradigm of «bigger equals better» had begun to falter. The Seville was a bold attempt to both rejuvenate the make’s image and win over young import buyers and became the smallest and most expensive model in the lineup, turning Cadillac’s traditional marketing and pricing strategy upside down! First model equipped with an injection V8 engine and a hydramatic automatic gearbox, it could boast in the midst of oil crisis to consume less than 15 liters per 100 kilometres. Very well welcomed by the American clientele, the Cadillac Seville was going to be a significant success, with its production reaching 40.000 cars in the first year.
Our Seville is a 1976 model in its original strict configuration. Already very well equipped at the time, its first owner had optionally asked for the rims, the roof pavilion not covered with skaï and the grille «kit Rolls-Royce» proposed by the dealers. Since its purchase in 2011 from the American actor Georges Bryant, its current owner has travelled nearly 10,000 km at his wheel, taking care of the maintenance regularly. The suspensions were replaced, the brakes were rebooted recently, the electrical beam checked and the air conditioning reloaded.

Beautiful, spacious, comfortable and very easy to drive in the current traffic, driving a Cadillac has become an accessible luxury!
