This absolutely stunning 1986 Ford Escort XR3i Cabriolet was purchased by the vendor in April 2022. The previous owner had just conducted a full restoration, with receipts and photos as evidence. He was immediately drawn to the advert, and the car did not disappoint him when he went to see it, and he immediately made an offer and bought the car. There is a huge file of receipts, all old MOT certificates, photographs, plus other documentation to support the mileage and the original state of the car, including the original purchase invoice.
The vendor has managed to use the car for many, top down, days out and it gets lots of smiling admirers. Only two problems have become apparent to date, one was the fuel relay which was replaced, and the other was a loose hub nut, which a garage checked out, as well as the rest of the car whilst it was in the garage. The latter was put down to the fact the vehicle needed a good run to identify any loose nuts and bolts etc. Since then, which was back in April, there have been no other issues at all, and the car has completed around 2,000 dry miles. The only slight issue noted is that the front electric windows are a little sticky and would benefit from a check over to improve the running and the switches. The last owner and his son had owned the car for some years, probably from about 2010.
