1987 Alfa Romeo 90
Chassis No. ZAR162A0000005596
Representing the final chapter in Alfa Romeo's long-running transaxle sedan lineage, the Alfa Romeo 90 was produced from 1984 through 1987 as the ultimate evolution of the Alfetta platform. Engineered with a rear-mounted transaxle, the 90 delivered the balanced handling characteristics that had become a hallmark of the marque's sporting sedans. Its restrained, angular design, penned by Bertone, was complemented by a number of distinctive features, including a speed-activated front spoiler and a uniquely driver-oriented interior. Built in limited numbers, the model today stands as a compelling and perhaps an underappreciated milestone, marking the end of Alfa Romeo's rear-wheel-drive executive saloon era prior to the introduction of the 164.
Finished in Grey Metallic over a Grey velour interior, the example offered here has been thoughtfully enhanced with performance-focused mechanical upgrades. Power is derived from a 3.0-liter V6 engine sourced from the 75 America QV, paired with a five-speed transmission from the same model. The chassis has been lowered by approximately two centimeters and further distinguished with Zender alloy wheels, Bilstein shock absorbers, and Ferodo brake pads. An additional oil cooler with an auxiliary pump has also been installed to support sustained performance.
Recent maintenance completed in September 2025 includes the replacement of the radiator, water pump, exhaust system, and headlining. Accompanying the car is a substantial cache of spare components, including three engines, one of which has been overhauled, along with various body panels, lighting elements, interior fittings, and an exhaust system.
