Chassis N° WPOZZZ96ZRS815329
French registration 4 cylinders in line 2990cc - 237bhp

At its launch the Porsche 968 was accorded a somewhat reserved reception. While it was acknowledged that the judicious styling changes conformed to the trends of the moment at Stuttgart, the centre section and interior, unchanged from those of the 944, were more of a surprise. Not only that, but the performance was no better than that of a 944 Turbo. What it amounted to was that the 968 - renamed the 968 Luxe with the arrival of the Club Sport - was nothing more than a restyled 944. But today the 968 still seems a modern design, whereas the 944 comes across as more old-fashioned.
The Club Sport came in a range of bright colours - Grand Prix White, Speed Yellow, Maritime Blue, India Red - and with its lowered suspension and 17in wheels it certainly had the right look. Other details include body-colour bullet-style ‘Cup' door mirrors and door handles and the rarelychosen option of ‘Club Sport' side-striping. Kitted out in this fashion, there's no doubt that the Porsche 968 CS has a visual impact that makes it an interesting alternative to a 911.
The 968 Club Sport offered here was delivered new by Porsche-Stuttgart on 20 January 1994. Its first owner, in Germany, had the car regularly serviced by a Porsche dealer. In 2001, at 95,000km (59,032 miles), it changed hands, the mileage at this stage being confirmed by Passion Automobiles
Porsche of Sausheim, where the 968 was serviced three times up until 2005. Indeed, every service through to 2013 is recorded in the service booklet. With 174,700km (108,557 miles) on the clock, the current owner hasn't spared the pennies when he has needed to restore or change key items of the mechanicals. Bills from specialist Rose Passion and from Porsche dealers amount to more than 7500 € and cover changing the cambelt, the clutch, various drivebelts, the catalyst, the dampers, the front suspension, the braking system and the four tyres, as well as a complete re-paint. The list of work carried out is impressive, and is reflected in the exceptional condition of the car today. Furthermore, this particular 968 Club Sport is especially well specified in terms of options, having a sunroof, air conditioning, electric windows and door mirrors and a Blaupunkt radio-cassette.
Perfectly documented and mechanically totally irreproachable, this is one of the finest 968 Club Sports currently on the market.
