1997 Ferrari F355 Spider

[ translate ]

Chassis No. ZFFXR48B000106797
Engine No. 44137
One of the first things Luca Cordero di Montezemolo did after taking the reins at Ferrari in 1991 was order sweeping changes across the road car lineup. The F355 was unveiled in 1994 as the replacement for the 348 and was the first proof that Ferrari was back on track. Pininfarina refined the 348's silhouette into a classically beautiful shape, complete with the elegant flying buttresses that would make their final appearance on a Ferrari road car.
Beneath the surface, the F355 was a leap forward. Its 3.5-liter V8, now equipped with five valves per cylinder, titanium alloy connecting rods, and Bosch's M2.7 engine management system, produced a claimed 380 CV and 268 lb-ft of torque, delivering over 100 CV per liter—a remarkable figure for the time. A redesigned aerodynamic underbody paired with telescopic electronic dampers provided meaningful gains in handling, making the F355 more than five seconds faster around Ferrari's Fiorano test track than its predecessor.
Delivered new in Europe with the highly desirable gated manual transmission and first registered on 20 March 1997, this striking Rosso Corsa over Nero leather example crossed the Rhine into France from Germany in the autumn of 2006.
More recently, with the odometer showing just 24,465 km—a mere 200 km fewer than today—the car underwent a comprehensive service at Ferrari Gauduel Lyon, encompassing the timing belts, seals, air conditioning, brakes, full geometry check and alignment, fluid changes, fuel pump, air pump, injection system, exhaust, clutch, and battery. This work is documented on an invoice dated May 2019 for €21.039, available in the car's history file.
In the spring of 2024, minor adjustments were carried out, including the hood strut, convertible top mechanism using parts sourced from Ferrari Gauduel Lyon, and the air conditioning system.
Presenting just 24,680 km at the time of cataloging, with the benefit of a recent major service, largely original paintwork, and no sticky button syndrome, this F355 Spider, fitted with the highly desirable gated manual gearbox, represents an exceptional opportunity for the discerning enthusiast.
