1997 Jaguar XJ6 3.2L Executive X300 - a low mileage, time-warp example, Chassis No.: SAJJFALG3BP807840 / Engine No.: 9HPGNB135981
The first Jaguar XJ was launched in 1968 and the model designation has been the flagship of Jaguar's range ever since. The Jaguar XJ (X300) was manufactured between 1994 and 1997 and was the first XJ produced entirely under Ford ownership, their enormous investment evolving the outgoing XJ40 generation through a return to more traditional Jaguar styling, designed to evoke the earlier series XJs of the 1970s and 80s, whilst providing significant improvements in build and interior quality and reliability. The front of the car was redesigned significantly to return to four individual round headlamps that provided definition to the sculptured bonnet. Six-cylinder X300s were powered by the all-alloy 3239cc AJ16 inline-six engine, producing 216bhp and 232lb/ft of torque, further enhancing the XJ40's AJ6 engine with an electronic distributor-less ignition system and driving through a 4 speed automatic gearbox.
This top of the range 3.2L Executive model XJ6 is one of the last 'run-out' models of the X300 XJ6, the Executive additions to the interior including a wood/leather steering wheel, wooden gearknob and leather sports-style seats whilst exterior enhancements included sports style alloys and partial dechroming of the brightwork.
First registered on 18th June 1997, finished in the very attractive combination of Spruce Green with cream handpainted pinstripe and Cream leather interior and having covered less than 24,000 miles from new, this must be one of the finest examples of the X300 XJ6 in existance. The exterior and interior are in superb condition and the engine purrs smoothly and quietly. We are informed that it drives without fault. The car has a comprehensive service history from the local Guernsey Jaguar agents, Jacksons, with a print out of supplied by Jacksons dating back to 29/07/2004, when the odometer reading was 10,418 miles. The most recent annual service was carried out on 16/10/2020, with the only advisory being for a low 3mm on a rear tyre - both rear tyres have since been renewed.
