19C FRENCH BRONZE INKWELL LETTER PEN DESK SET DEPOSE 96
A rare antique 19th Century French Bronze Inkwell Letter Pen Desk; circa 1896, stamped 'J. H. Depose 96' the first rack a superb high relief cherub with flower garlands, the second rack high relief depiction of singing birds flaking a c-scroll centered bouquet of flowers, pen tray with shell embellishment, stylized in wells with their original metal catches. The stand is raised on detailed acanthus leave adorned feet, has a rich gold to mellow brown aged patina giving the piece nice character. The piece has a weighty feel in the hands 4 lbs 3 oz and would make an impressive addition to any fine household or collection.
