Acquired through inheritance by the descendants of Alexander Ivanovich Nelidov (1835-1910), Russian Ambassador to Turkey, Italy, and France
Collection of the Nelidov family to the present day
CONDITION
Observed in frame, the painting appears in age-appropriate condition. Overall very fine and stable tendrils of craquelure extending horizontally across the canvas. The canvas has been previously wax-lined. Inspection under UV light shows an even layer of masking varnish but no apparent sign of restoration.
