19th C. American & German Pewter Vessels (3)

North America, United States & Germany, ca. mid-19th to early 20th century CE. A fine gathering of three cast-pewter vessels. The smallest vessel is a pint glass with a flared foot, a curving handle, an inverted piriform body, and a squat rim; a maker's mark beneath the rim reads "Chester Co. no. 7." The second vessel is a German cylindrical cup with a pair of incised striations across the lower body; the maker's mark stamp beneath the foot reads "STEDE" beneath a horse head. The largest vessel is a footed pitcher with a fluted body, a tapered neck, a dramatically curved and a flattened pouring spout; the maker's mark beneath the foot reads "41 James Dixon & Sons 1848." Size of largest (pitcher): 3.8" W x 6.2" H (9.7 cm x 15.7 cm).
