Mystery Artist (19th Century). An antique Latin American Spanish Colonial style Santos statue. A religious figural work crafted from composition and carved wood, with glass eyes, hand painted polychrome details, and silver metal crown. Depicting one of the New Testament "Three Kings" (Gaspar, Melchior, or Balthasar); likely formerly part of a church Nativity scene. No apparent maker marks.
Dimensions: 15 X 9 X 15.5 in.
Condition: Good to fair condition with heavy surface wear and patina. Restoration to finger tips, and heavy craqueleur throughout. Estate fresh to the market.
