19th C. Chinese Glass & Brass Snuff Bottles (3)
East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, later period, ca. 19th century CE. A quartet of charming snuff bottles. Two are brass with rounded bodies and inlaid turquoise and coral, giving them a Tibetan feel. The other two are glass with glass lids and a metallic enameled surface, each painted to show scenes of traditional Chinese life against a natural backdrop. Size of largest: 1.8" W x 2.55" H (4.6 cm x 6.5 cm)
Provenance: private Colorado, USA collection acquired through descent in 2019; ex-private Texas, USA collection, acquired in Asia in the 1990s
