19th C. Chinese Iron Flail w/ Wooden Handle
East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th century CE. An interesting example of an iron flail with a sturdy conical head hanging from the end of a chain. The flail portion of the weapon is attached to a narrow suspension loop atop a slender pole body, and the thick handle features a pair of integral faceted spherical ornaments. Size: 23" L (58.4 cm).
