19th C. Tibet Sankha Sterling Silver Conch Horn
A Tibetan Shankha monastery ritual horn (19th Century) heavily carved and embellished conch shell with deeply hand tooled sterling silver depicting various Buddhist symbol and scrollwork with inset stones of turquoise, coral, and shell. Shell is deeply carved with a Chakra (wheel) and figure of monk with outstretched arms. It is a functioning horn with leather braided carrying strap attached at top.
