19th Cent. French Ormolu-Mounted Sevres Turquoise

DESCRIPTION: French Sevres porcelain and gilt bronze mantel clock set. The clock surmounted by a covered urn with landscape painted decoration, the clock case flanked by double turquoise ground seated Putti figures. Finished with ornate scrolling forms, and painted porcelain encased designs. Garnitures feature top mounted seven-light candelabras with turquoise painted porcelain bodies, flanked by double figural maiden busts, finished with hand painted courting scenes. Clock designed with a pendulum movement marked: "Japy Freres Grande Med d'Honneur" Number stamped: "1718" Signed at underside of garniture. Serves markings under lid and within clock case.
