(lot of 2) Spectacular French patinated bronze candelabras/ torchieres, early 20th c., sixteen lights with faux candle covers in three tiers, baluster-form standard with dolphins, shells, winged cherubim masks, full-body winged putti, surrounded by festoons and cartouche shields, scrolled base with three large full-body winged putti, on conforming verde marble base, two putto lacking wing, chips to marble bases (one rear foot with large chip)**Provenance: originally purchased by Clara Driscoll (Texas, 1881-1945) for the Hotel Robert Driscoll in Corpus Christi, Texas. Clara Driscoll was a Texas-born businesswoman, philanthropist, and historic preservationist who provided the money to preserve the Alamo Mission in San Antonio. A mid-century photo postcard from the hotel shows the torchieres at the right in the main lobby** Start Price: $6000.00
