2003 Lamborghini Gallardo
Chassis No. ZHWGE11M94LA00035
Engine No. 07L-00064
As is tradition at Lamborghini, the name “Gallardo” is drawn from a lineage of Spanish fighting bulls, evoking strength, spirit, and untamed energy.
Originally envisioned under the guidance of Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign, the final expression of its design was shaped by Luc Donckerwolke at the Centro Stile Lamborghini. The result is a set of clean, taut lines, inspired by the sleek aggression of fighter jets, enclosing a mid-mounted rear engine that proudly continues the Lamborghini legacy, yet marks a new chapter all its own. At its heart lies a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V10, delivering 500 CV through an all-wheel-drive system. Praised for its relentless character across the rev range, it reaches a top speed of 309 km/h. It is precisely this blend that gives the Gallardo its distinct sense of refinement, reflected in its careful build quality, well-considered ergonomics, and the richness of its materials.
Born in the era following Audi's acquisition of the marque, this new-generation Lamborghini embodies a rare harmony between German industrial precision and the passionate craftsmanship of Sant'Agata Bolognese.
This example, a 2004 model-year car and the 35th to leave the production line, was delivered new to Automobili Lamborghini itself. It featured an episode of Top Gear, driven by host Jeremy Clarkson, who is pleasantly surprised by the ergonomics and comfort of the cabin: the space inside for headroom and legroom, as well as the excellent all-round visibility. He also praises its handling, describing the car as “fantastic” and “wonderful,” adding that “it's in a different class, it's epic.” The timed lap segment that closes the episode features a different, right-hand-drive example finished in the same specification.
Its Italian registration document, issued in Lamborghini's name, and bearing Bologna “BO” plates from its first registration in July 2003, confirms that it changed ownership in 2007, before joining its current collector, an Italian Lamborghini enthusiast, in 2010. It also records regular inspections, the most recent dating from October 2025.
It is equipped with the desirable and rare six-speed gated manual gearbox, fitted to only a small proportion of Gallardo production. As one of the marque's final models offered with a manual transmission, the Gallardo has become especially sought after by collectors in this configuration. Presented as a remarkably well-preserved and unrestored Gallardo, the car remains in its original factory configuration, with no tuning modifications or later-version upgrades, and retains its original colors and components, including the exhaust. Its originality is further supported by an ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) Certificate of Identity with “Gold Plate.”
Maintained by the factory until 2008, it has since been serviced by official Lamborghini specialists, including Imperiale Sport Car Service in Mirandola and Top Motors Salvioli in Nonantola, as evidenced by the accompanying stamped service book, with recorded services at 26,740 km and 34,821 km. The car is understood to have been factory-equipped with the reinforced clutch developed for the Gallardo models supplied to the Italian Polizia.
This striking Giallo Midas Gallardo, featuring the highly desirable gated manual transmission and benefiting from a clear and distinguished factory provenance, showing just 44,111 km on the odometer at cataloging, alongside a wealth of stories, not least its memorable appearance on Top Gear, is a truly compelling proposition for any serious collector.
