Replacing the acclaimed S-type R as the XF range-topper the supercharged SV8 didn't shout its performance presence and for today's buyer it offers first-rate value for money, as well as being a highly useful M5 substitute. Here is an early example that has covered 117,000 miles, but that six-figure reading is belied by the first-class bodywork, metallic dark blue paint and trim. The bumpers are devoid of scratches and chips while the large-diameter alloy wheels are smart. Jaguar interiors are always smart and supremely comfortable: seating remains smart, although the driver's seat shows wear to the edges. The door panels, dashboard and tread plates have lasted very well, amply demonstrating the uplift in Jaguar build quality in more recent years. Starting and driving very well and with a tidy engine bay this supercharged XF should go as well as it looks and the vendor notes that while the service book has not been correctly stamped, there is plenty of history.
