The emperor asks Louis Roederer to reserve him every year the best cuvée of the Maison, which he particularly appreciates. To accentuate the uniqueness of this exceptional Champagne, a flat-bottomed crystal bottle will be specially created. It will bear the name of this precious material, which enhances its transparency and brightness. Made exclusively in the "great vintages", when the maturity of the Chardonnay (about 40%) and of the Pinot Noir (about 60%) that make it up is perfect, the 2008 vintage is characterized by a particularly dry but cool summer, it certainly belongs to the category of «continental» vintages which are charged and powerful because they are highly concentrated. However, the strangely cool summer temperatures have "marked" this vintage, giving it an incredible freshness, intense and salty at the same time. To achieve perfect ripeness, Cristal 2008 was aged in bottle for 8 years, followed by a rest of at least 8 months after disgorgement. Cristal 2008 is deep, intense and masterful.
