2008 Porsche 911 GT2

[ translate ]

Chassis No. WP0AD29998S796091
Released at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2008, the GT2 re-emerged in the Porsche lineup as the most powerful road-going 911 ever created. Requiring what Porsche would call 'a new approach to old ideas', the GT2 featured twin turbochargers with Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG) enabling faster response at lower engine speeds and allowing for zero-to-sixty sprints in just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 204 mph. Utilizing a modified engine derived from the 911 Turbo, the GT2 was available solely with rear-wheel drive providing significant weight savings and driving dynamics more closely related to that of a racing car. If 530 horsepower and rear-wheel drive were not enough excitement, however, the GT2 was also equipped with a precise six-speed manual transmission allowing for full driver engagement.
With power, torque, and acceleration all in plentiful supply, the GT2 would require an exterior design to match that energy, beginning up front with an aerodynamically adapted front end with large air intakes for improved airflow to both the central radiator and brakes. Equipped with side panel intakes supplying the intercooler, Porsche concluded that the most impressive view on the GT2 was the view others would see most of all, the rear! Integral to optimum stability at high speeds, a fixed rear wing ensures proper downforce while twin titanium tailpipes are elegantly incorporated into the rear bumper. As a combined effect of these aerodynamic modifications, the GT2 offers a drag coefficient of just 0.32 as well as positive front and rear downforce.
Completed in February of 2008, this 911 GT2 is finished in a sinister Black exterior protected by a full vehicle clear bra with 19-inch GT2 alloy wheels. Now equipped with Sport Bucket seats trimmed in Black leather with Alcantara seat inserts, this car features the optional Sport Chrono Package, Carbon Fiber Interior Package, aluminum footrest, Speed Yellow seat belts, and BOSE Surround Sound System. As the top-of-the-line 911, the GT2 was treated to many standard features such as Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) offering incredible braking performance and fifty-percent weight savings over comparable metal discs. The 911 GT2 also features Launch Assistant, providing for maximum acceleration from a standing start along with an Alcantara three-spoke GT2 steering wheel.
Offered with under 6,000 miles at the time of cataloging, this Porsche 911 GT2 is accompanied by a clean CARFAX report indicating just two-previous owners. As one of approximately 194 U.S. market examples, this represents an incredibly rare opportunity to acquire a most desirable example of one of Porsche's most exciting road cars ever produced. Perhaps Motor Trend said it best, when they stated at the time, “around 5,000 rpm the world as you've always known it explodes.”
