The 2016 Porsche 911 R is one such car. Built in limited numbers, it was an immediate hit with both Porsche collectors and automotive enthusiasts in general. The 911 R featured the 4.0-liter, 500-horsepower engine from the GT3 RS, a newly developed six-speed manual transmission, ceramic composite brakes, carbon fiber body panels, titanium exhaust, and a magnesium roof panel. Ordered new by well-respected Porsche collector Jan Koum, this 911 R was delivered through Carlsen Porsche of Redwood City, California in Porsche's official 'Communication Color' of White with Red stripes as worn by the 2016 Geneva Motor Show press car. As one might expect from a Porsche VVIP, this vehicle was nicely optioned with over $26,000 in additional extras including a single-mass flywheel with reinforced clutch, extended-range fuel tank, Light Design Package, and Sport Chrono Package. Equipped with lightweight-bucket seats trimmed in Black leather with houndstooth inserts, this 911 R features deviated stitching in GT Silver throughout the cabin with carbon fiber door-sill guards and the incredibly rare radio-delete option ensuring there are no disruptions between the driver and the glorious flat-six engine note.
