THE BUGATTI CHIRON SUPER SPORT

The 2023 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is a direct evolution of the legendary Chiron, designed to enhance performance, refinement, and control. The Super Sport traces its origins to Bugatti's historic pursuit of top speed and apex engineering. Following the debut of the standard Chiron in 2016, Bugatti engineers—under the leadership of President Stephan Winkelmann and Chief Engineer Frank Heyl—set their sights on pushing boundaries even further. In 2019, a modified Chiron Super Sport 300+ prototype became the first hypercar to break the 300mph barrier, at 304.773mph.

The 2023 production model, while electronically limited to 273mph for road use, is directly descended from that record-setting prototype. It combines blistering performance with grand touring comfort—the hallmark of the Bugatti brand.

At the heart of this endeavor lies Bugatti's legendary 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine, tuned to deliver a 1,578 horsepower with 1,180 lb-ft of torque. The upgraded engine features newly designed turbochargers, improved thermal efficiency, and reinforced internals to accommodate the extreme forces generated at high rpm and speed. This car has a top speed of much like the speed at which planes fly. The responsibility for distributing this immense power is assumed by the seven-gear dual-clutch transmission, which at full load and full speed, shifts from sixth to seventh gear at 261mph, facilitates acceleration from 0-60mph in 2.3 seconds and 0-124mph in an incredible 5.8 seconds. Impressive, considering the totality of the Super Sport weighs over 4,400 pounds. And better still, the soundtrack evoked by all this power is positively symphonic, thanks to a reconfigured exhaust arrangement inspired by the F6 fighter jet with two pipes stacked either side of the diffuser.

Hosting this goliath of a powertrain is a revised monocoque carbon-fiber chassis. The chassis geometry, suspension calibration, and aerodynamics are tuned to maintain composure at ultra-high velocities, aided by adaptive dampers, active ride height adjustment, and advanced rear-wheel steering.

Visually, the Chiron Super Sport is distinguished by its longtail rearend, extended by 25 centimeters over the standard Chiron, which along with the lower deflector reduces the tear-off area by 40%, significantly improving stability. The front fender vents, a romantic homage to the iconic EB110, air curtains and enlarged air intakes enhance downforce while reducing drag at high speeds, keeping airflow tight to the body's contours. Where the rubber meets the road Bugatti employed the bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, each individually X-rayed to eradicate irregularities and mounted on reinforced aluminum wheels, assuring stability over 250mph.

THE CAR OFFERED

This 2024 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport presents a remarkably thoughtful specification paired with compelling modern provenance.

Delivered new to Canada and configured to U.S.-market specification, the car stands as a masterful expression of Bugatti's celebrated Sur Mesure program, having been commissioned as a singular contemporary homage to the legendary Bugatti Type 41 Royale, famously associated with the "Éléphant Blanc."

Drawing direct inspiration from Rembrandt Bugatti's iconic elephant sculpture, the configuration establishes a profound visual and philosophical connection to the marque's prewar zenith. The car is finished in its factory-applied Glacier White, subtly accented by Nocturne details, and paired with an exquisitely tailored French Racing Blue interior—an exceptionally rare and evocative combination that recalls Bugatti's golden era while remaining resolutely modern in execution.

Including its bespoke options, the car carried an original MSRP of $4,106,450. The vehicle is accompanied by its documented technical specification and bespoke Sur Mesure details, as outlined in the original Bugatti build sheet specification. Most evocatively, the historic elephant motif, long associated exclusively with the Bugatti Royale, has been reintroduced through bespoke embroidered elephant emblems on the seat headrests, a subtle yet powerful tribute to Rembrandt Bugatti's sculpture and a defining hallmark of this commission.

At the time of cataloguing, the car displays just 2,750 miles. While imbued with historical reverence, the Chiron Super Sport's performance remains thoroughly contemporary—an extraordinary fusion of classic artistry and cutting-edge engineering.

The Chiron Super Sport "Éléphant Blanc" stands as a compelling testament to Bugatti's enduring legacy and forward-looking ambition. A singular and highly collectible Sur Mesure commission, it offers its next custodian the rare opportunity to steward a modern Bugatti of profound historical resonance—bridging the marque's interwar heritage with its uncompromising vision of the future.
