20th C. Tony Kraps Night Landscape Oil Painting
**Originally Listed At $500**
Tony Kraps (American, active late 20th to early 21st century), oil on canvas, ca. 1980s to 1990s. A magical landscape - almost ethereal in tone - of a mountain lake under moonlight, shrouded in blue hues reminiscent of Pablo Picasso's Blue Period when the master painted near monochromatic paintings in cool shades of blue and blue-green. Kraps captures the scene at a particularly quiet time of day. We see no human or animal denizens, only evergreens, snow-capped hills and mountainsides, a hint of their reflections in the lake below, and in the sky above - a few delicate snowflakes and a crescent moon. Size: 9.875" W x 8.125" H (25.1 cm x 20.6 cm); 13.125" W x 10.875" H (33.3 cm x 27.6 cm) with custom framing
Provenance: private Jon and Mary Williams collection, Boulder, Colorado, USA; Mary Williams has represented some of America's finest artists and has more than 35 years of experience as a trusted source for quality paintings, sculpture, and antique prints and maps.
