28 Ancient Roman Bronze / Copper Coins

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A fine group of 28 cast bronze and copper coins, each depicting a regal figure on the obverse face and a myriad of different designs on the reverse faces. Though faded, the details on most of the coins are still visible. Size of largest: 1.25" W (3.2 cm); total weight: 328 grams.

Provenance: ex-Davis collection, Houston, Texas, acquired before 2013 from various auction houses in London and New York

Condition Report: Fading to raised designs and lettering, small nicks to peripheries of some coins, and light encrustations on some coins. Light earthen deposits and nice patina throughout.
