THREE FINE NECKLACES FROM PAKISTAN (MEHRGARH) AND THAILAND
South Asia, Pakistan, Mehrgarh, Neolithic period (c. 4.800-4.500 BC) and Thailand. The first necklace combines three different cultural regions. It consists of delicately shaped, very thin and small discs beads made from shells, approximately 2.500-3.000 years old and discovered in Ban Chiang in Thailand. 7 golden oval beads from Pushkalavati, the former capital of Ghandara and miniature transparent blue handmade beads from Burma complete the necklace. With a modern 18k gold clasp. The second necklace is a classical Mehrgarh jewerly made from handcrafted steatite beads. Accompanying them green malachite beads and grey pearls which are modern. With a modern 18k gold clasp. The third necklace is a combination of handcrafted steatite beads from Mehrgarh culture, increasing in size towards the center and rounded modern malachite beads. With a modern metal clasp. All three necklaces with a modern velvet pouch.

Condition: Very good condition with minor traces of age and wear.
Provenance: Private collection of a German artist and collector living in Southeast Asia.
