Inber and her third husband, professor of medicine Ilya Davidovich Strashun, spent almost three years in besieged Leningrad. During these years she wrote the poem "Pulkovo Meridian" (1942) and a collection of poems "The Soul of Leningrad" (1942
Vasily Semenovich Grossman (1905-1964) (real name - Joseph Solomonovich Grossman) - Russian Soviet writer and journalist, war correspondent.
In the story "The People are Immortal" the author reveals to the reader the traits of the Russian character. We are talking about our units that were ambushed and about breaking through the enemy ring. About the events of the first days of the Great Patriotic War, about the heroism of Soviet soldiers. The plot is based on concrete facts. The story includes a picture of the death of Gomel, which shocked Grossman in August 1941. Observations of the author, who portrayed the fate of people met on the military roads, brought the story closer to the truth of life.
The copy will be extremely interesting for history buffs, as the book is literally filled with little-known facts.
