30073: temp. Philip IV silver Atocha Shipwreck Recovery
temp. Philip IV silver Atocha Shipwreck Recovery Bar of 73 troy lb 0.80 troy oz. ND, An incredible (and massive) relic piece from one of the most famous shipwreck recoveries in history. The bar itself, granular from its multi-century time spent at the bottom of the ocean, retains much of the marking that would help identify variables such as the date, purity, owner/shipper, etc. Included with this lot is the original certificate that accompanied the piece with the facsimile signature of treasure-hunter Mel Fisher. Errata - we note the original certificate of authenticity for this bar was previously lost and a "duplicate original" COA was issued to the owner through the Mel Fisher organization.
